SUSTAINOBILITY

Project type

Color Design

Date

2020

Location

Costa Mesa, California.

Coming off of Fall 21, and pulling from the foundational colors and themes that framed the season, we were able to capture the essence of what is yet to come.
Uncertainty is the common thread that permeates the future, and now more than ever, we see a world that is desperate for normalcy and balance.
The arrival of COVID-19, brought along social distancing, political debates, conspiracy theories, and a lot of free time. It has also brought communities, and countries together to fight this crisis in a collaborative, and creative way.
Sustainability is not just a fad, and the younger generations are showing up with creative ways to help “save” the planet. That wave not only manifests itself through social media and politics, but in our daily lives.
Trans-seasonal is now key when it comes to colors. As the idea of reinventing palettes every season changes - because of the unreliability of our climate and unsustainability of the fashion industry, for example - we find ourselves looking for versatile and grounded shades, with the occasional pops of brights.
Optimism, novelty, nature and togetherness are some of the leading ideas behind this season’s palette, with sustainability as backbone.
